FORESTRY MANAGEMENT VACANCY

We have an opportunity to join our forestry department, delivering informed and proactive advice to our client base in this rapidly paced sector.

We are looking for: an individual who is passionate about forestry and woodland and its synergy with the wider rural environment and importance in achieving net zero, people with a foundation knowledge in the UK forest industry its practices and standards, people who can look at opportunities and problems laterally and consider solutions to maximise benefits to the client.

A full-time role based from the office with time in the field and flexibility to work from home as required.

The successful applicant will hold a forestry / ecology / environmental qualification as well as a full driving licence. Knowledge of the forestry industry, grant processes and forestry standards is a benefit however, overarching all of this is the desire to learn, develop and contribute to our clients land and forestry portfolios whilst making a positive impact within our dynamic forward-thinking team.

GENERAL ESTATE MAINTENANCE WORKER VACANCY

Sorn, East Ayrshire

Castle – Wedding Venue – Let Property – 8,500 acre Estate

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with practical experience to work on a rural estate maintaining the Castle and other properties, as well as looking after the grounds and other general estate work. Ideally someone living in the local area.

The individual must have an interest in gardening, a knowledge of machinery including (tractor, quad bike and chain saw) would be useful and a good level of physical fitness is required for the role

The role is 40 hours per week, working some weekends with 30 days holiday. Some flexibility will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Garden maintenance - strimming, mowing, weeding, hedge cutting, leaf removal
  • Maintenance and repairs – of castle and cottages – from gutters to drains
  • Maintenance of biomass boilers and hydro scheme
  • Logs and fires in the Castle, helping the events team prepare for weddings etc
  • Security & ad hoc tasks as required
